who needs a wedding cake?

We had a cream puff tower or 'croquembouche'.  WHAT?!  We got it from Cruffs, a local bakery that specializes in cream puffs.  Boy, do they ever!!  Cruffs is co-owned by a lovely man named, Mario!  Whenever I see him around town, I fangirl.  His team did an amazing job.

How does someone pick croquembouche flavors and colors?  Chris and I got one of each flavor- hazelnut chocolate, baileys, coconut, mango, green tea, chantilly cream, lemon, strawberry- and ate and ate and ate.  It was a great afternoon.  After a grueling deliberation, we picked the chantilly cream dipped in chocolate, well I did.  Chris was like, “do whatever you want, babe.”  Gotta love him.  I knew it would taste amazing, but when I saw the tower I welled up.  The team at Cruffs made this:

Opting for a cream puff tower over a wedding cake was a no brainer :)
